What the Helper is, where to find it, how it works through a problem, and exactly how your data is protected if you ever choose to send a message to support.
What it is
Help that lives inside the app.
- The Stratbridge Helper is a support assistant built into the app itself — there is nothing to install and no separate site to visit.
- Describe a problem in plain English and it works through the likely cause, then points you to the fix, drawing on these same user guides and a curated list of known issues.
- It follows the same principle as every tool: it does the checking, suggests the fix, and you stay in control of what happens next.
Where to find it
Always to hand, never in the way.
- The Helper opens from within the app, on any screen, so you do not have to leave what you are doing to ask a question.
- It is minimisable and can be moved, so it never blocks the content you are working on.
- A short walkthrough runs the first time you open it, so you can read this page or simply open the Helper and let it introduce itself.
How it works
Three steps, in order.
- Start with a suggested topic or type your own question — either works.
- It runs quick, read-only checks on your setup — your browser, free storage, connection, and whether your on-device engine is ready — and shows you exactly what it looked at, with a tick or a cross against each.
- It then searches the user guides for the answer and offers a fix. If it still cannot resolve the issue, it hands you to a person.
What it can help with
Common, self-fixable issues first.
- Getting an on-device AI engine to load, and what to do when it will not.
- Storage, private-window and offline warnings, and how to clear them.
- Everyday questions — where a feature lives, what a file type should look like, why a column did not map.
- When something is genuinely a fault, it can flag it proactively rather than wait to be asked.
Your data stays on your device
The zero-egress guarantee still holds.
- The checks and the guide search run entirely in your browser — the same guarantee as the tools.
- Nothing about your files, ledgers or vendors is sent anywhere to answer your question.
If you choose to share a message with support
Off by default, and only ever with your say-so.
- Sharing the text you typed is switched off by default — the Helper always tries to help you without it.
- If you do turn sharing on, the message is cleaned on your device first: amounts, card and account numbers, names, dates and similar details are removed automatically.
- You are shown exactly what would leave the device and can send it or hold it back — the decision is yours, and it is asked every time.
When it hands you to a person
So you do not have to start again.
- If the issue needs human support, the Helper passes on a short diagnostic summary — what it checked, not your data — so you are not repeating yourself.
- The first time you use it, the Helper may take a moment to prepare its on-device help index; after that it responds straight away.
